How UMass Dartmouth handles TOEFL scores
Undergraduate scores must be sent directly by the testing agency. Graduate admissions accepts unofficial scores for review but needs official scores for enrolment, so send them before the scores expire. The graduate TOEFL/IELTS code is 3786. A medium-of-instruction letter does not meet the graduate exemption rules.
For comparison, the undergraduate page asks for IELTS 6.0, and the graduate page asks for IELTS Academic 6.0 for entry and 6.5 for TA consideration.

If your TOEFL score is below UMass Dartmouth's level
Undergraduates who do not meet the English requirement may join the Gateway Program to build the academic language skills needed for full admission to their degree. Completing ELS level 112 also meets the undergraduate requirement. The graduate pages describe no pathway.
