What PTE score do you need for the University of Bologna?

The Archaeology and Embodied Social and Cultural Systems pages say the PTE Academic Online test is not accepted and that certificates must be issued on or after 1 January 2023; you upload the certificate on Studenti Online with each application. The Civil Engineering page does not mention the online test or a date limit. None of the pages mentions PTE Core or a Pearson code.

On the Civil Engineering page, IELTS is listed at a minimum of 5.5 alongside PTE 59; the Archaeology page lists IELTS 5.5 to 7.0 as B2. The same pages also list the Pearson English International Certificate (formerly PTE General) by CEFR level, which is a different test from PTE Academic.

The Civil Engineering page counts a degree taught fully in English of at least two years in the EU/EEA, the UK, the US and certain other listed countries as proof; it says MOI letters from other countries are not admissible. Applicants with a B2 English result from a previous career at Bologna's language centre (CLA) or another Italian university can self-certify it.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Bologna programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
