Alternative qualifications must be passed within five years of starting your course. The Nigeria page links to the English page, which accepts WAEC and NECO English.
Brighton's Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh pages say it will not accept those countries' English qualifications, yet the English page accepts medium of instruction letters "from certain institutions from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh", without a list, so ask admissions.

Pre-CAS interviews, deposit, deadlines and the Student visa
Brighton's CAS page says "Most applicants are required to pay a £5,000 deposit before a CAS will be issued." Applicants who do not respond to, attend or pass the pre-CAS interview "will be refused a CAS/Student visa sponsorship" and lose their offer, with no re-sit. For January 2027, nationals of Bangladesh, Ghana, Iran, Nigeria and Pakistan must apply by 9 October 2026, with deposits by 16 October; most other visa applicants have until 12 December 2026.
The on-campus summer pre-sessional costs £3,800 for 10 weeks or £1,900 for 5 weeks and needs a SELT; for a 6.0 offer, entry is IELTS 5.0 (4.5) or 5.5 (5.0). The 6-week online pre-sessional for January 2027 master's starters costs £1,640, from IELTS 6.0 (5.5), but is closed to nationals of Bangladesh, Iran, Ghana, Nigeria and Pakistan because of their earlier deadlines.
For a Student visa, UK Visas and Immigration asks for English at CEFR B2 for degree-level study and B1 below degree level, per gov.uk. At degree level, gov.uk adds, your university can assess your English itself and may ask you to take a different test.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Brighton programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
