Exemptions and English-taught degrees
Agricultural Sciences exempts first-language English speakers, as defined by the UK government's student visa list, and holders of a bachelor's from a listed country, including Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. It says a registrar's letter stating that your studies were in English is not sufficient.
Biology accepts a degree programme of at least two years taught in English, or at least two years of study or work in an English-speaking country within the last six years. It lists TOEFL iBT Home Edition, TOEFL ITP and Oxford ELLT among proofs it does not accept.
Modern Indian Studies exempts applicants who completed an English-taught programme in the last three years only if C1 English was required for admission or certified during the studies, shown by an official certificate. A simple MOI letter without the C1 level is not sufficient. You may apply without a certificate but must submit it by the enrolment deadline.

The Modern Indian Studies page also warns that consular authorities may already ask for proof of English as part of the visa application, so having your certificate early helps. Uni-assist is not mentioned on the three pages above.
Your German student visa is handled by the German embassy or consulate where you apply, not by the University of Göttingen. This guide covers the University of Göttingen's admission rule only. Our IELTS for Germany guide covers the visa side and test fees.
English requirements in Germany are written into each programme's admission or examination regulations and can change between intakes. The score that binds you is the one on your University of Göttingen programme page and in your admission letter, so check it there before you book a test.
