Degrees taught in English, and interviews
For both programmes above, a degree programme of at least two years taught in English counts, but only from the EU, EEA, Switzerland, the UK, the US, Australia, New Zealand or Canada. Test certificates must be no more than two years old when you apply.
For International Management, native speakers and applicants with an extended stay in an English-speaking country can submit documents instead, and if nothing else proves C1 the admissions committee may hold an assessment interview, including by video.

Special admission procedures
International Business and Economics runs a special admission procedure once a year, before the winter semester, and you must meet the English requirement as part of the general admission procedure as well. International Management starts in the winter semester only.
Klagenfurt's full list of accepted certificates for other programmes is in the Rectorate regulation linked from the master's admission page.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Klagenfurt programme page and in your offer, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where the University of Klagenfurt publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
If you are close to the line, aim for a margin above it: one weak skill can miss the requirement even when the overall band clears it. Not sure where you stand? Take a free IELTS mock test and get a band for each skill.
