How the University of Manitoba handles Duolingo scores

Undergraduate test results expire two years from the test date and must still be valid at the start of your admission term. The graduate page says test scores older than two years are invalid in all cases.

The graduate page notes that Duolingo, TOEFL and IELTS are no longer available in Iran, so applicants from Iran may apply without a test score and add it later.

For comparison, the undergraduate page asks for IELTS Academic 6.5 with 6.0 in each module, and the graduate page lists IELTS 6.5 overall.

If your Duolingo score is below the minimum

Both pages accept a pass at Level 5 of the English Language Centre's Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP), the AEPUCE level. Graduate applicants admitted to that level can be conditionally admitted, and must finish it before starting their master's programme.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your University of Manitoba programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
