Test rules and how to send your score

The page accepts Pearson (PTE) Academic conventional and online at the same scores, and says test scores are valid for two years from the date taken. Scores must come directly from the testing agency, and personal copies and photocopies are not accepted. It does not mention PTE Core or a Pearson institution code.

On the same page, IELTS Academic (including IELTS Online) is 6 for the associate pathway and 6.5 for a bachelor's degree. So PTE 53 matches IELTS 6 and PTE 58 matches IELTS 6.5. The graduate international page names TOEFL and IELTS and refers other approved exams to the University System of Georgia standards, without a PTE score.

If you fall short

Completing an approved University System of Georgia campus-based ESL programme meets the requirement on both routes. A score that reaches 53 but not 58 still qualifies for the associate pathway, which is offered on the Cumming, Gainesville, Oconee and Blue Ridge campuses but not on Dahlonega.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UNG programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
