What PTE score do you need for the University of Potsdam?

The University of Potsdam accepts PTE Academic or PTE Academic Online at 59 for English at B2 and 76 for C1. Most of its master's programmes ask for one of these levels, or A2, under their own admission regulations. A certificate at a higher level also counts for a lower one, so PTE 76 covers every programme that asks for B2.

Test rules and how to send your score

Both levels name "PTE Academic or PTE Academic Online". The page does not give a validity period, a Pearson sending code or any mention of PTE Core. Bachelor's programmes are handled differently: where English is required, it is usually shown through a language aptitude test or a recognised equivalent, without a CEFR level.

On the same page, IELTS Academic or IELTS Online needs at least 7 in every component for C1 and 6.0 in every component for B2. TOEFL iBT is 95 for C1 and 75 for B2.

If you fall short

Instead of a test, both levels accept a degree from a recognised university taught only in English, or a school-leaving qualification from an English-language education in a country where English is an official language. B2 also accepts a degree with English as a main or minor subject and China's CET Band 6 at 550.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Potsdam programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
