Test rules at Sussex

The page says PTE Academic scores are valid for two years from the test date, you cannot combine scores from more than one sitting, and your score must be valid when you begin your Sussex course. It states: "We do not accept the PTE Academic Online test."

The page names PTE Academic, not PTE Academic UKVI, and gives no Pearson institution code; it refers you to the Pearson website for more information on the test.

If your PTE score falls short

The page lists passing the Sussex Centre for Language Studies pre-sessional English course as one way to meet the requirement. You can also apply before you have a valid score; any offer will normally be conditional on meeting the English level.

For a Student visa, gov.uk asks for English at CEFR B2 for study at degree level or above and B1 below degree level, and says a university can assess degree-level applicants' English itself and may ask for a different test (gov.uk).

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Sussex programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
