What IELTS score do you need for the University of Twente?

Twente does not accept the IELTS Online test, IELTS Indicator, IELTS One Skill Retake or IELTS General Training. Only the standard PTE Academic is accepted, not PTE Core or PTE Academic Online, and only in-person LanguageCert Academic. TOEFL MyBest scores are not accepted.

The TOEFL iBT (Special) Home Edition is accepted only by exception, when your local test centre is closed because of unsafe conditions. Make sure your certificate is still valid at least one month after you submit your application, because Twente may not review it straight away.

For master's, Twente processes your application only once you meet the English requirement and does not offer conditional admission on English. If you take the test after the application deadline, or do not have the official certificate by then, your application will not be processed. Bachelor's applicants can submit the test later, before the deficiency deadline.

Being a native speaker or having studied in English does not by itself exempt you. Bachelor's applicants can be exempt with English as an exam subject after the last three years of secondary school in Australia, English-speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK or the USA, or through Twente's country list. Master's applicants must check Twente's English Language Tool; Twente says it does not grant individual waivers.

Twente's English pages we read do not set a separate English score for the Dutch student residence permit. For how the permit and English proof work in general, see IELTS for the Netherlands.
