UOW Duolingo equivalency table
From UOW's English language requirements page. UOW sets each course's requirement in IELTS terms on its Course Finder (choose International, then the Entry Requirements tab), and gives this table for converting to Duolingo. The table has no overall Duolingo figure for IELTS 5.5 or 5.0, which appear only as subscore levels.

UOW test rules
All tests must be taken within two years of your course start date, and your results must be no more than two years old when the course starts. UOW says official test scores must be submitted before a valid offer can be issued, and you must meet the required scores in one test sitting. Nursing and the Master of Teaching have additional English requirements of their own.

If your Duolingo score falls short
If you do not meet the English requirement for your course, UOW says you may complete an English language course at UOW College Australia. Borderline cases can be referred for faculty assessment, which is case by case and needs at least two of the listed criteria, such as test results within 0.5 IELTS band of the requirement.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UOW programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
