What PTE score do you need for UTRGV?

The undergraduate catalog says scores must be sent directly from the testing service. The graduate page accepts only official scores received directly from the testing agency or UTRGV's Testing Center, says scores are valid for two years, and warns that scores can take 8 to 10 weeks to arrive. No page mentions PTE Academic Online or PTE Core.

On the same pages, IELTS is 6 for undergraduates and 6.5 for graduate study, so PTE 45 is accepted at both IELTS levels. Duolingo is 95 and 105.

Graduate applicants are exempt if they completed the Advanced Level of the Intensive Program from UTRGV's English Language Programs, or at least 30 credit hours of university coursework in an exempt country. Graduate applicants with Duolingo 105 or higher may be asked for a video interview; the page does not say this for PTE.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your UTRGV programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
