Wesleyan's expected English scores
From Wesleyan's international undergraduate admission page. It gives an overall IELTS score only and expects all incoming students to have advanced spoken and written English.

Optional does not mean ignored
Submitting a test is optional, but Wesleyan may contact candidates individually to ask for results if it needs them to make a decision. Exam-based curricula such as A levels, IB, ISC or WASSCE results are required for students taking them and can also be used to show English proficiency. If you use the SAT or ACT for English, all sections are considered.
PTE Academic is not on Wesleyan's list.

Self-reporting and official scores
Wesleyan accepts self-reported scores when you apply. Official scores are required on enrolment and must arrive by 1 July. It prefers scores from the testing agency, but screenshots sent by your school to applicant@wesleyan.edu are also considered; Duolingo results should come from Duolingo only.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admission cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Wesleyan programme page and in your admission letter, so check it there before you book a test.
Minimum vs competitive score
Where Wesleyan University publishes an IELTS score, it is the minimum: the floor an application has to meet to be considered, not a score that guarantees an offer.
Competitive programmes, and courses with far more applicants than places, may expect more than the minimum, and some departments set their own overall or per-skill scores, often for writing or speaking. The course page has the final word, so check it before you book a test.
