What Duolingo score do you need for West Virginia University?

WVU does not accept expired scores or scores it cannot verify. Duolingo test takers report score verification details, through an emailed form for undergraduates or the applicant portal for graduates. If WVU can verify the score, you do not need to send official results; if not, send scores directly from the testing agency.

For graduate teaching assistants, TOEFL or IELTS takers can qualify on speaking scores (IELTS 7.5 speaking), but applicants who submitted PTE or Duolingo must pass an interview conducted by a WVU administrator.

On the same pages, Academic IELTS is 6.5 for both undergraduate and graduate admission, and 5.5 to 6.0 with no section below 5.5 for the ELP Program.

Undergraduates on the Morgantown campus can be considered for the ELP Program at DET 90 to 104, taking limited general education courses alongside English, or for Intensive English Program conditional admission. Applicants to WVU Online, Potomac State and WVU Tech are not eligible for either. Graduate IEP conditional admission is available only in programmes that review IEP applicants.
