What TOEFL score do you need for WU Vienna?

WU Vienna asks for TOEFL iBT 85, or 4.5 for tests from 21 January 2026, for its English-taught Bachelor's Program in Business and Economics at B2. English-taught master's programs need C1: 100, or 5 for newer tests. The TOEFL iBT Home Edition and unofficial test reports are accepted, but MyBest scores are not.

WU Vienna TOEFL test rules

WU accepts the TOEFL iBT and the TOEFL iBT Home Edition, with an official or unofficial test report, but excludes TOEFL MyBest scores. For the bachelor's, the certificate is due at the latest at personal admission; for master's programs it must be uploaded with the online application. The page does not give an institution code, and sets separate language rules for International Management/CEMS.

If your TOEFL score is below WU's level

For the bachelor's, the page also accepts a passing grade in English on an EU, EEA or Swiss school-leaving certificate, a certificate from an Austrian university language centre at B2, and other listed tests. For master's, it accepts an English-taught degree of set length from listed countries, and the WU Business Language Center offers the Oxford Test of English among other providers.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your WU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
