XJTLU PTE minimums for master's and PhD
From XJTLU's master's entry requirements, which link to its English equivalence table, and its PhD entry requirements. Each master's programme states an IELTS level; the PTE score below is the table's equivalent.

Test rules and the IELTS comparison
For 2027 entry, XJTLU accepts only IELTS (Academic), TOEFL iBT and PTE (Academic), taken onsite and completed no earlier than 1 January 2025. It does not accept combinations of scores from different sittings, and its One Skill Retake allowance applies to IELTS only. The pages do not mention PTE Core or a Pearson institution code.
The equivalence table runs from PTE 58 (54 in all skills) beside IELTS 5.5 to PTE 69 (60) beside IELTS 7.0 (6.0). The PhD page's own figures differ slightly from the table: for example, it pairs IELTS 6.5 (6.0) with PTE 61 (59). Follow the figure on your programme's own entry.

If you fall short
If you miss a master's requirement by 0.5 of an overall IELTS band (or the equivalent) but meet the Pre-sessional English (PSE) course requirements, you may be accepted onto the PSE course with Programme Director approval. Completing it lets you change your offer to unconditional for English.
Exemptions cover nationals of majority English-speaking countries and graduates of degrees taught in English, conferred no earlier than 1 January 2025. The undergraduate pages read did not give a PTE figure.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your XJTLU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.

Does XJTLU accept PTE Academic Online?+
No. XJTLU asks for an onsite test.
