What IELTS score do you need for Yokohama National University?

For the Socrates Program, 6 years of English-medium schooling, or 4 continuous years including the final year, is accepted instead of a test.

For the PhD, the test is waived for native speakers and for a degree taught in English within the last 5 years in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or South Africa. A degree taught in English in India, the Philippines, Hong Kong or Singapore does not exempt you, but a letter from your university confirming English as the medium of instruction can replace the score.

The Socrates Program accepted exams taken on or after 1 September 2023, using TOEFL Test Date Scores only. The PhD accepted tests taken after 7 November 2023, with official scores sent directly. Both documents are for the 2026 cycle, whose deadlines have passed, so check the next guidelines before you apply.
