What PTE score do you need for York University?

The undergraduate page says English proficiency tests are valid for two years. It does not mention PTE Academic Online or PTE Core. You cannot upload results to MyFile; for PTE, York asks you to email your Pearson Score Report Code (SRC) to study@yorku.ca with the subject line "PTE Score Report" and your York reference number.

On the same page IELTS Academic is 6.5 for most programmes against PTE 60, and 7.0 for Nursing and Schulich against PTE 67. The TESOL Certificate lists no PTE score (N/A), so it needs another test.

York can make a conditional offer while you wait for results, and offer holders with an English requirement can complete a pathway such as the Integrated Year One or Accelerated English at the York University English Language Institute (YUELI). The page gives the Integrated Year One entry level in IELTS (5.5 to 6.0, no band below 5.0) only, not in PTE, so ask YUELI how it reads a PTE score.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your York programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
