What PTE score do you need for Youngstown State University?

Test scores over two years old by the beginning of the term you wish to enter are not acceptable unless you have been attending school in the United States since the test date. YSU accepts official scores and gives institution code 1975 for them (3368 for the ACT). The page does not mention PTE Academic Online or PTE Core.

For undergraduates, IELTS is 6.0 with at least 5.0 in each subscale, TOEFL iBT 67 (4 on the 2026 scale) and Duolingo 95. Graduate applicants need IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 79 to 80.

Completing Level 5 at YSU's English Language Institute (ELI) meets the undergraduate requirement, as do 24 semester hours at an accredited English-medium college. The conditional admission page says an applicant who meets everything except the English level may be admitted conditionally, subject to completing ESL study at the ELI; you submit the ELI application form and a non-refundable $45 ELI fee.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your YSU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
