1

Are there many fountains in your hometown?

Not really, to be honest. There is a fairly large stone fountain in the main town square, just outside the council building, but that is about it. It is quite a popular meeting spot, especially on sunny weekends when people grab a takeaway coffee and sit around it.

2

Do you enjoy sitting near fountains?

Yes, definitely. I find the sound of flowing water really soothing after a busy day at work. Whenever I visit the botanical gardens near my flat, I usually find a quiet bench next to the central water fountain and read a book for half an hour.

3

Did you see many fountains when you were a child?

I suppose I did when my parents took us on day trips. I vividly remember visiting a historical palace during a summer holiday, and the courtyard had massive ornamental fountains. My brother and I used to toss pennies into the water to make wishes.

4

Do you prefer modern fountains or traditional ones?

I would say I lean towards traditional ones. There is something charming about classic stone sculptures with water gently trickling down carved tiers. Modern fountains with synchronised lights and music can be impressive, but they feel a bit too theatrical and noisy for my taste.

5

Would you like to have a small fountain in your home or garden?

I would love that, actually. If I had a bigger garden, I would definitely install a small solar-powered water feature in a quiet corner. It would attract local birds and create a peaceful atmosphere to unwind in the evenings.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
