1

Does your home have a garage?

Not at the moment, actually, as I live in a second-floor flat in the city centre. We just have an allocated parking space out front. My parents' house has a single garage, though, which is mostly crammed with old bicycles and garden tools.

2

What do people in your country usually keep in their garages?

To be honest, very few people actually park their cars in them. Most households tend to use their garage as a makeshift storage shed for odds and ends, like DIY equipment, camping gear, or bulky items that don't fit inside the main house.

3

Did your family use a garage when you were growing up?

Yes, we did. My dad was really keen on woodworking, so he converted half the garage into a mini workshop. I remember spending Sunday afternoons out there watching him build wooden bookshelves, while my mum's small hatchback took up the other half.

4

Do you think having a garage is important for a home?

I suppose it depends on your lifestyle. If you own a vehicle or need extra storage space, it's definitely a huge bonus. That said, with property prices being so steep, a lot of people manage perfectly fine without one, relying on on-street parking instead.

5

If you had a large garage, how would you use it?

I'd probably turn it into a home gym. I've always wanted enough space for a rowing machine and some free weights so I wouldn't have to commute to a fitness centre every evening. It would be far more useful to me than just parking a car.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
