Gifts: questions and Band 8 answers

I have occasionally crafted bespoke presents when I have the spare time to be creative. Last winter, I knitted a woollen scarf for my sister, and seeing her wear something that I had spent hours making by hand was a deeply satisfying experience.
When do people give gifts or presents in your country?
Gift-giving is most common during major annual festivities like Christmas and New Year, but people also exchange tokens of affection on birthdays or weddings. Beyond these traditional celebrations, it is also customary to bring small offerings when visiting someone's home for the first time.
