1

Do you often see large areas of grass where you live?

Yes, quite a lot, actually. I live near a large municipal park in Leeds, so I pass huge stretches of green open space every morning when I commute. It is really pleasant because it breaks up all the concrete and grey buildings in the city centre.

2

Do you enjoy sitting or walking on the grass?

Definitely, especially during the summer months. There is something really relaxing about kicking off your shoes and walking barefoot on freshly cut grass. I often take a book down to the local green on a Sunday afternoon just to unwind.

3

Did you play on the grass much when you were a child?

All the time, to be honest. My primary school had a massive playing field, and we would spend our lunch breaks running around, playing tag or kicking a football about. My parents used to complain because my clothes were constantly covered in grass stains.

4

What kinds of activities are popular to do on grass in your country?

Well, having picnics is probably top of the list when the weather is nice. People also love outdoor sports like football or cricket. In public parks, you will often see groups of friends lounging about, throwing a frisbee, or even doing outdoor yoga.

5

Would you prefer to have a garden with real grass or an artificial lawn?

I would definitely go for real grass, even though it requires a lot more upkeep, like regular mowing and weeding. Artificial turf might be lower maintenance, but it just feels completely lifeless to me and gets uncomfortably hot underfoot in warm weather.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
