1

Do you often go to street markets?

Yeah, fairly often. There's a weekly farmers' market in my town centre every Saturday morning, and I try to pop by if I have some free time. I usually pick up fresh bread and a few seasonal vegetables for Sunday lunch.

2

What kinds of things do you usually buy at a market?

Mostly fresh produce, to be honest. I love buying things like organic apples, artisan cheese, and potted herbs for my kitchen windowsill. Occasionally, I'll browse through vintage clothing stalls or pick up a second-hand book, but food is definitely my main priority.

3

Do you prefer shopping at markets or supermarkets?

It depends, really. For everyday essentials like toiletries or tinned food, supermarkets are far more convenient. But for atmosphere and quality ingredients, I much prefer open-air markets. You get to chat with the stallholders, which makes the whole experience a lot friendlier.

4

Are open-air markets popular in your country?

Yes, hugely popular. Traditional morning markets are a staple in almost every town, especially for elderly people who enjoy buying fresh fish and greens. Recently, evening food markets have also taken off among younger crowds looking for street food and a lively vibe.

5

Did you ever visit markets when you were younger?

I did, actually. My grandmother used to take me along to our local market every weekend. I vividly remember the noisy traders calling out their prices and the smell of roasted nuts. She'd always buy me a warm pastry if I behaved myself.

6

Would you like to see more local markets in your area?

Definitely. It would really breathe new life into our neighbourhood and give a boost to small, independent traders. At the moment, our high street is dominated by large chain stores, so having a regular craft or food market would be a welcome change.
