1

Do you have a fixed morning routine?

Yes, pretty much. I'm definitely a creature of habit, so I tend to wake up at around seven, put the kettle on straight away, and have a quick stretch. Sticking to a set schedule just helps me ease into the day without feeling rushed.

2

What is the very first thing you do after waking up?

To be honest, I usually reach for a large glass of water on my bedside table. I find it wakes me up much faster than anything else, even before I check notifications on my mobile phone or get out of bed.

3

Do you prefer having breakfast at home or on the go?

I'd much rather eat at home if I can manage it. Grabbing something on the run always feels a bit chaotic, whereas sitting down for ten minutes with a bowl of porridge and a coffee sets me up properly for the working day.

4

Are your mornings during the week different from the weekend?

Completely different, really. On weekdays, everything is timed to the minute so I don't miss my train, but on Saturdays, I love having a lie-in and pottering around the flat in my dressing gown without checking the clock every five minutes.

5

Has your morning routine changed much over the years?

I'd say so, yes. Back when I was a student, I was a real night owl and would roll out of bed at the last second. Nowadays, I value an early start because it gives me some peace and quiet before work.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
