1

Are there many mosques in your hometown?

Yes, quite a few, actually. In the historic quarter near my flat, you can see several within walking distance. The main central mosque has a lovely courtyard where people gather, and its dome is visible from almost anywhere in the neighbourhood.

2

Have you ever visited a famous mosque?

I have, yes. A couple of years ago, I went to Istanbul on holiday and visited the Blue Mosque. It was absolutely breathtaking inside, especially the intricate blue tiles and the massive chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.

3

What do you think of the architecture of mosques?

To be honest, I find it fascinating. I really appreciate the geometric patterns and detailed calligraphy used instead of pictures or statues. The towering minarets also add a distinctive look to city skylines, which I've always admired.

4

Do you prefer modern or traditional mosque designs?

I definitely lean towards traditional ones. Modern buildings can feel a bit stark, whereas older mosques made of carved stone have a sense of peacefulness and character that's hard to replicate with concrete and glass.

5

Would you like to visit famous mosques in other countries in the future?

I'd love to, definitely. It would be amazing to see the grand mosque in Abu Dhabi one day because I've heard the marble work is stunning. I think travelling to see historical landmarks is always worthwhile.
