1

Do you usually arrive on time when you meet people?

Yes, pretty much always. I really pride myself on being prompt because I think it shows respect for other people's time. Usually, if I'm catching a train to meet a friend in town, I'll aim to get there ten minutes early just in case.

2

How do you feel when someone is late to meet you?

To be honest, it depends on the circumstances. If they've dropped me a text to let me know they're stuck in traffic, I don't mind too much. But if they keep me waiting in the cold without any explanation, I do get slightly annoyed.

3

What excuses do people in your country often give for being late?

The most common one is definitely heavy traffic or public transport delays. Where I live, the buses are notorious for running behind schedule, so people frequently blame a missed connection or an overcrowded tube whenever they turn up late for work.

4

Did you find it easier to be punctual when you were younger?

Not really, no. When I was at school, my parents pretty much organised my daily schedule, but I was terrible at getting out of bed in the morning. I remember constantly having to sprint down the road so I wouldn't get a detention.

5

Do you think you will manage your time better in the future?

I hope so, though I'm already fairly organised. I reckon I could streamline my morning routine a bit more, maybe by laying out my clothes the night before, which would give me a bit more breathing room before leaving the flat.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
