1

Do you often wear a raincoat?

Not very often, to be honest. I usually only put one on if there's a proper torrential downpour or if it's far too windy to hold an umbrella. Just last week, I had to dig mine out of the wardrobe because the weather was dreadful on my morning commute.

2

What kind of raincoat do you prefer?

I definitely lean towards something lightweight and breathable. I can't stand those heavy, rubbery ones because you end up boiling hot inside. I've got a navy hooded jacket that packs away into a small pouch, which is brilliant for carrying in my rucksack.

3

Did you wear raincoats when you were a child?

Yes, all the time. My mum used to dress me in this bright yellow mac with matching wellies whenever we walked to primary school. I remember hating it back then because it felt a bit childish, but looking back, it certainly kept me bone dry.

4

Do you prefer using an umbrella or wearing a raincoat?

I'd say an umbrella is my go-to choice for light showers, mainly because it's quicker to put up and take down. However, if I'm cycling or it's really gusty, a raincoat is far more practical since it keeps your hands completely free.

5

Would you ever buy a fashionable raincoat?

I suppose so, as long as it's actually functional. Some designer jackets look great on the hanger, but they're useless at keeping the water out. If I found a stylish trench coat that was genuinely waterproof, I'd definitely consider splashing out on it.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
