1

Do you enjoy going on long car journeys?

Yes, I really do. I find them quite therapeutic because you have the freedom to stop whenever you want. Last summer, a friend and I drove along the coast for a few days, and being able to pull over at quiet beaches was brilliant.

2

Who do you usually travel with on road trips?

Usually, I go with a couple of close friends or my cousins. We all share similar tastes in music, which is essential when you're stuck in a car for hours. We took a weekend trip to the Lake District recently, and it was great fun.

3

What do you like to do to pass the time during a drive?

Well, if I'm not behind the wheel, I usually listen to podcasts or create playlists for everyone. Sometimes I just gaze out of the window at the scenery. On our last trip, I got through an entire audio series about history while my brother drove.

4

Did your family go on road trips when you were younger?

We did, actually. Every summer holiday, my parents would pack the boot with camping gear and we'd drive down to the south coast. It took about six hours, and my sister and I always used to bicker in the back seat.

5

Do you prefer driving on motorways or taking scenic routes?

Definitely scenic routes, even though they take a bit longer. Motorways are faster, but they can be terribly monotonous. I'd much rather wind through country lanes and small villages, like when we drove through Yorkshire last autumn.

6

Is there a particular road trip you would like to take in the future?

I'd love to drive along the west coast of Scotland one day. I've seen photographs of the rugged mountains and coastal roads, and they look stunning. It's definitely on my travel wishlist for next spring.
