1

Have you ever attended a seminar?

Yes, I have, quite a few actually. The most recent one was a professional development workshop on digital marketing that my workplace organised last month. It was held in a local conference centre, and I picked up some really practical advice on managing content.

2

What kind of seminars do you find most interesting?

I'm definitely drawn to interactive ones, especially those focused on personal finance or career growth. I find large, formal lectures a bit dry, so I prefer sessions where the speaker encourages the audience to share their own experiences and bounce ideas off each other.

3

Do you prefer listening to a speaker or participating in discussions during a seminar?

To be honest, I lean towards group discussions. While it's great to hear from an expert, actively engaging with other attendees helps me absorb the material much better. During a team-building seminar last year, the small group tasks were definitely the highlight for me.

4

Did you attend many seminars when you were at school or university?

Not in secondary school, but at university they were a weekly fixture. We had small group seminars for my history modules where we debated assigned readings. It was quite daunting at first, but it really pushed me to articulate my thoughts clearly.

5

Would you like to give a seminar presentation in the future?

I suppose I would, although public speaking still makes me a bit nervous. If I ever become specialised enough in my field, say in project management, I'd quite like to run a small training session to share practical tips with newcomers.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
