1

Does it often snow in your hometown?

Not really, no. I grew up in a coastal city where the winters are fairly mild, so we rarely get more than a light dusting. Whenever a few flakes actually settle on the ground, everything basically grinds to a halt because we simply aren't prepared for it.

2

Do you prefer warm weather or snowy weather?

I'd definitely lean towards warmer weather, to be honest. While a fresh blanket of snow looks gorgeous out of the window, getting around in it is an absolute nightmare. I'd much rather be outside in the sunshine without having to bundle up in heavy woollen coats.

3

What do people in your country usually do when it snows?

Well, children usually head straight to the local park to build snowmen or go sledging down the hills. Adults tend to be a bit more cautious, so most people stay indoors with a hot drink, unless they have to shovel their driveways or clear their cars.

4

Did you enjoy playing in the snow when you were a child?

Oh, absolutely. I remember having snowball fights with my siblings in our back garden until our gloves were soaking wet. We used to make makeshift sledges out of plastic trays and race each other, which was brilliant fun, even if we ended up freezing cold.

5

Would you like to go to a snowy place for a holiday in the future?

I'd love to, actually. I've never tried winter sports like skiing or snowboarding, so renting a wooden cabin somewhere in the Alps sounds amazing. It'd be lovely to spend the day on the slopes and then relax by a roaring fire in the evening.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
