1

Do you often do stretching exercises?

Yeah, I make an effort to do a bit of light stretching almost every day. It really helps release the tension in my lower back, especially since I spend hours hunched over a laptop at work. Just five or ten minutes on the living room rug makes a huge difference.

2

When do you usually stretch?

Mostly first thing in the morning, to be honest. As soon as I get out of bed, my joints feel quite stiff, so doing a few gentle hamstring and shoulder stretches helps wake me up and get my blood flowing before I have my first cup of tea.

3

Did you learn how to stretch when you were at school?

Yes, definitely. Our physical education teacher always insisted on a proper warm-up before we played football or did athletics. We used to do basic calf and quad stretches together on the school field, though at the time, we mostly just giggled through it.

4

Do you think stretching is important for everyone?

I’d say so, absolutely. Even if someone isn't particularly sporty, staying flexible prevents everyday aches and improves posture. For older adults especially, keeping muscles supple can make simple daily tasks like bending down or reaching into high cupboards much easier.

5

Would you like to learn more stretching routines in the future?

I certainly would, yes. I've been thinking about taking up a beginner's yoga class at a local leisure centre. I think having an instructor guide me through more structured mobility exercises would be brilliant for my overall flexibility.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
