1

Do you have any tattoos?

No, I don't actually have any. I've thought about getting one once or twice, but I'm a bit indecisive and I worry I'd end up regretting the design later on. My sister, on the other hand, has a small botanical piece on her forearm which looks really lovely.

2

Are tattoos popular in your country?

Yes, they've become hugely popular, especially amongst younger adults. It's completely normal to see people walking around with full sleeves or subtle minimalist artwork. In the past, they were quite niche, but nowadays body art is firmly part of mainstream fashion.

3

What kind of tattoos do people usually get?

It really varies, but meaningful quotes, geometric patterns, and nature-inspired motifs seem everywhere right now. A close friend of mine recently got a tiny outline of a mountain range on his wrist to commemorate a hiking trip we took together in the Scottish Highlands.

4

Have people's opinions about tattoos changed over time?

Definitely. In the past, tattoos carried quite a negative stigma and were often associated with rebellious behaviour. Nowadays, they're widely accepted as a legitimate form of self-expression, and you even see professionals in corporate offices showing visible ink without facing any judgment.

5

Would you ever get a tattoo in the future?

I wouldn't completely rule it out, to be honest. If I came across a concept that had deep personal significance, I might take the plunge. That said, I'd definitely start with something discreet, like a small symbol behind my ear or on my ankle.

Details are invented. Use the shape, not the sentences: examiners mark memorised answers down.
