Every learner's BandLadder average was slightly below the score they got on test day, so our mocks have so far been a little cautious, not flattering.

How we compared
- We took each learner's official Pearson PTE score report and matched it to their BandLadder account.
- We averaged every full mock they completed on BandLadder in the 90 days before their test, leaving none out, including low ones.
- We publish every learner we can match, close or not. This is a small, growing sample, not a controlled study, and we add new results as learners share them.
- Practice scores are estimates for learning, not official results or a guarantee of your score.

How accurate are BandLadder PTE mock scores?+
For all 3 learners we have checked so far, the average of their BandLadder full mocks in the 90 days before the test was within 3 points of their official PTE score, with an average gap of 2.7 points. The sample is small and growing; every result is listed on this page.
Are BandLadder mocks harder or easier than the real PTE?+
So far slightly harder: every learner's mock average was a little below the score they got on test day, so a mock score is a cautious estimate.
How did you compare the scores?+
We matched each learner's official PTE score report to their BandLadder account and averaged every full mock they completed in the 90 days before the test, with nothing left out. Learners agreed to their first name, surname initial and scores being published.
Is a mock score a guarantee of my real score?+
No. Practice scores are estimates for learning, not official results. Test-day nerves, the questions you get and how you prepare all move the real score.
