What IELTS score do you need for The American University of Paris (AUP)?

Both pages waive the test if you have studied for at least four years in an all-English curriculum in a country not on the English-speaking list. They also waive it if you have lived in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom or the United States and recently studied in an all-English curriculum, for at least two consecutive years.

Undergraduate applicants have two more routes: completing, or being about to complete, the International Baccalaureate Diploma or A Levels with the official result before the semester starts, or applying only for the French Immersion summer programme. AUP says it reserves the right to ask any applicant for English test results, so a waiver is not guaranteed.

PTE is not on either page's list of accepted tests. If you only hold a PTE result, ask AUP admissions whether it can be considered before you apply.

AUP is a liberal arts university in Paris that teaches in English. The graduate page lists the MA in Diplomacy and International Law, MA in Global Communications, MA in International Affairs, MSc in Human Rights and Data Science, MSc in International Management and MSc in Strategic Brand Management. You may apply to only one graduate programme.

For fall entry, undergraduate rounds are Early Action by 15 November, Priority by 1 February and Regular by 15 March, with later applications reviewed as International Admission after 1 April. Graduate rounds are Priority by 1 February and Regular by 31 March, with later applications considered as space allows. The pages do not describe a pre-sessional English course for applicants below the minimum.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your AUP programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
