Test rules and validity

Both pages state that ASU does not accept the PTE Academic Online exam, so book a test-centre sitting. The test must be taken no more than two years before your ASU start date; older scores may lead ASU to ask for a new test. The pages do not mention PTE Core or a PTE institution code.

On the same pages, IELTS needs 6.0 for undergraduates (6.5 Fulton higher-requirement and Nursing, 7.0 Cronkite) and 6.5 for graduate study. Some graduate programmes set higher requirements or do not accept certain tests.

If you fall short

Undergraduates can meet the requirement by completing Global Launch courses at ASU, and select graduate schools accept completion of Global Launch Online or Campus Immersion English programmes or the English for Graduate Admission and Achievement course. Global Launch completion must be no more than two years old at your start date.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your ASU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
