PTE rules at Brunel

Brunel lists the test as 'Pearson Academic (UKVI approved for Student Visa)', so book the PTE Academic UKVI version. In general, the page says, Brunel courses ask for between IELTS 6.0 and IELTS 7.0, and some courses also set sub-score minimums on the course page.

The page gives no separate PTE validity period or rule on combining sittings, and does not mention PTE Academic Online. For IELTS, Brunel warns that a non-UKVI result that misses your degree score cannot then be used for a visa for a UK pre-sessional course.

If your PTE score falls short

To study English at Brunel before your degree on a Student visa, you need PTE Academic UKVI with 43 in each part, taken at an approved test centre. Brunel also runs its own BrunELT test and the Brunel Pathway College.

For the Student visa itself, gov.uk asks for English equivalent to CEFR B2 at degree level or above and B1 below degree level, and says a university can assess degree-level applicants' English itself. Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Brunel programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
