What PTE score do you need for Curtin College?

Tests taken before August 2026 use slightly different scores: 45 with no skill below 40 for Stage 1 diplomas, 45 with none below 45 for the Stage 2 commerce, engineering and IT diplomas, 50 with none below 45 for the Masters Qualifying Program, and 50 or 58 with every skill at that level for the health streams.

The page does not state a validity period, a rule on PTE Academic Online or a Pearson institution code. It notes that for a student visa you may need a test approved by the Department of Home Affairs. Curtin College's page does not list PTE Core. Pearson's PTE Core FAQ says PTE Core is initially only suitable for work and migration visa routes to Canada and that PTE Academic is the test accepted for university study.

For comparison, the same page sets IELTS 5.5 (no band below 5.0) for Stage 1 diplomas, 6.0 (6.0) for health and built environment, and 6.5 for the occupational therapy, pharmacy, physiotherapy and nursing streams.

Curtin College accepts Curtin English results instead of a test, for example Curtin English Gateway at a B grade for Stage 1 diplomas and B+ for the health and built environment diplomas. The Master of TESOL stream of the Masters Qualifying Program needs PTE 50 with reading 50, writing 51, listening 50 and speaking 54.

Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Curtin College programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
