What PTE score do you need for De Montfort University?

The tests page gives PTE equivalents only for IELTS 6.5 (6.0) and IELTS 6.0 (5.5). It lists LanguageCert, TOEFL and Duolingo scores for IELTS 5.5 as well, but no PTE score at 5.5, and it does not state a PTE validity period or whether PTE Academic Online is accepted. Ask DMU before relying on either.

Humanities and Media courses ask for IELTS 6.0 to 6.5 and Science courses 6.5 to 7.5, per the entry requirements page, so a Science course above IELTS 6.5 needs a PTE figure confirmed by DMU admissions.

The entry requirements page lists an International Year Zero from IELTS 4.5 with pre-sessional English and DMU Foundation courses at IELTS 6.0; it gives no PTE entry point for either.

For the Student visa itself, gov.uk asks for English equivalent to CEFR B2 at degree level or above and B1 below degree level, and says a university can assess degree-level applicants' English itself. Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your DMU programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
