What else DTU accepts, and what it refuses
DTU does not accept IELTS One Skill Retake or TOEFL MyBest scores. TOEFL iBT and IELTS Academic results are valid for two years from the test date, and you must upload an official score report by the application deadline, because DTU does not receive results directly from test providers. Cambridge results must be shared through Cambridge's results service.
Instead of a test, MSc applicants can use English B or A from Danish upper secondary school (grade 02), comparable English from Nordic upper secondary school, IB English courses with grade 3, or EB English with 50.00 (from 2021) or 60.00 (before 2021). DTU General Engineering students are exempt.
DTU does not accept a diploma from upper secondary, bachelor's or master's studies taught in English, statements from universities, teachers or employers, or any other English test.

DTU's English-taught BSc in General Engineering needs IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 88 (or 4.5 for exams after 21 January), or C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 180, with no sub-scores listed. IELTS One Skill Retake is not accepted, and TOEFL and IELTS results that can no longer be verified online on 5 July are not accepted. English B from upper secondary school does not exempt you.
Exempt are native speakers with an English-taught upper secondary exam from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain or Ireland that includes academic English at Danish B level, and holders of Nordic, Duborg-school, IB or EB exams with English at B or A level. DTU says applicants from all other countries, including African and Asian countries where English was the language of tuition, are not exempt.
DTU's English pages we read do not set a separate English score for the student residence permit or visa. Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your DTU programme page and in your admission decision, so check it there before you book a test.
