Edge Hill's levels by test
From Edge Hill's English language requirements page. IELTS, PTE and Trinity ISE results are valid for two years after the test date, and Edge Hill does not accept letters of proficiency. It accepts the IELTS Indicator; IELTS Online, One Skill Retake and PTE Academic Online are not stated. Applicants can email for an Oxford ELLT discount code.

These course pages were read on 8 October 2026; none states a PTE score. All four, including adult nursing, say they are now closed to international applicants for September 2026 entry, with later starts listed. The adult nursing page asks the standard undergraduate 6.0 with 5.5.

Edge Hill's India page accepts Standard XII English completed within the last 10 years, at 70% for CBSE or ICSE and 75% for other boards per its English page, but says Standard XII English and MOI letters "will not be considered" from 11 named states. Its Nigeria page accepts WAEC or NECO English at C6 within 10 years; an older result may count with an MOI letter if you graduated within 10 years, but not for research degrees.
Edge Hill's Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh pages say "All students will need to provide one of the recognised English language tests."

Full fees before CAS, interviews, pre-sessional and the Student visa
Edge Hill's fees page asks a minimum £4,000 deposit before a CAS, but says "applicants from the following countries must pay their full tuition fees before a CAS can be issued: Bangladesh Pakistan Ghana". Paying full fees before the CAS earns a £500 discount. Its applying page says it may interview you before making an offer and may withdraw your application if you miss the interview. January 2027 deadlines are not stated.
Pre-sessional entry is half a band below your degree level: for example IELTS for UKVI 5.5 (5.0) or PTE 56 (51) for undergraduates, and 6.0 (5.5) for taught master's, with no separate application form. Lengths, prices and dates are not stated on Edge Hill's pages.
For a Student visa, UK Visas and Immigration asks for English at CEFR B2 for degree-level study and B1 below degree level, per gov.uk. At degree level, gov.uk adds, your university can assess your English itself and may ask you to take a different test.
Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Edge Hill programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
