What IELTS score do you need for Emory University?

Applicants who do not use English as their primary language must show they can succeed in a rigorous English-speaking classroom. You can do that without a test through a 700+ SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing score, a 30+ ACT English score, or by spending your most recent four years at a school where English is the language of instruction for all academic subjects. Otherwise submit one of TOEFL, IELTS or the Duolingo English Test. Emory expects an IELTS overall band of 7.5 and TOEFL iBT 100 on the old 0–120 scale or 5.5 on the new 1–6 scale, and its most competitive Duolingo applicants typically score above 130. None of these is a strict cutoff. See exam expectations.

The Laney Graduate School leaves English requirements to each program. Most ask for TOEFL (institution code 5187) or a writing sample, and many also accept IELTS. Enrolling students whose first language is not English take English Language Support Program testing in August, just before classes. See Laney international applicants.

The MS in Computer Science sets IELTS 7 as its minimum and TOEFL iBT 85 (90 recommended). It accepts Duolingo results by email if they cannot be sent through the platform. You are exempt if your degree is from an accredited US institution or one where English is the primary medium of instruction. See the CS FAQ.

Rollins asks for IELTS 6 overall or TOEFL iBT 79–80 (4 on the new scale), sent through SOPHAS (TOEFL code 5688), and scores may be no more than two years old. Its waiver covers US permanent residents, US degrees or ECFMG certification, and citizens of a listed group of English-speaking countries that does not include India. Goizueta recommends TOEFL 100 or IELTS 7.0 for the MBA. No test is needed if your undergraduate degree was taught in English and you work in a country where commerce is generally conducted in English; Goizueta names India as an example.
