Georgian English test minimums
Scores are from Georgian's international admissions page, which accepts IELTS Academic only. TOEFL iBT is 79 for diplomas and 89 with 22 in Writing and Speaking for higher programs; a minimum on the new 1–6 TOEFL scale is not stated by Georgian. Duolingo results are forwarded directly to the college.
Other options include Oxford ELLT 6 or 7, TOEFL paper-based 550 or 580, TOEIC 800 or 850, CAEL 60 (bands of 50 for degrees and graduate certificates) and Cambridge C1 Advanced 170 or 175. PTE, Duolingo and the other tests are N/A for Pharmacy Technician.

Band scores, validity and One Skill Retake
IELTS band minimums are not stated by Georgian outside Pharmacy Technician, so the table shows overall scores only. English tests older than two years will not be considered. A position on IELTS One Skill Retake and on IELTS Online is not stated by Georgian.
Exemption through study in English is stricter for some programs: BScN, Pharmacy Technician and Addictions: Treatment and Prevention need four years of English-medium secondary school instead of three.

Level 8 of Georgian's General Arts and Science – English for Academic Purposes counts: 70% or higher (or 60% in the certificate) for diplomas and certificates, 75% for degree studies and 80% for graduate certificates. It is N/A for HBSN, HBNA and Pharmacy Technician.
Study permit and PGWP: separate rules
Georgian's scores decide admission only. IRCC sets no minimum English score for a study permit; any language condition is written into your letter of acceptance (see IELTS for a Canada study permit). The Post-Graduation Work Permit is a separate test again. IRCC's PGWP eligibility page asks graduates of college, polytechnic and other non-university programs for CLB 5 in all four skills, and anyone who graduated with a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree for CLB 7. On IELTS General Training, CLB 5 is Reading 4.0 and Writing, Listening and Speaking 5.0 (IRCC score table). The PGWP takes IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General or PTE Core, not IELTS Academic, and college programs also face a field-of-study rule if you applied for your study permit on or after 1 November 2024 (see IELTS for the PGWP).
