What PTE score do you need for Goldsmiths, University of London?

PTE Academic is valid for two years. Goldsmiths does not accept the online version of the test, and PTE is not accepted for any programme offered by the Centre for Academic Language and Literacies (CALL). Goldsmiths must be able to verify the authenticity of any result it accepts.

Against IELTS, most Goldsmiths programmes ask for 6.0 to 6.5, so the usual PTE target is 60 or 62 in every skill. Note that programmes at IELTS 7.0 need 76, the same PTE score as those at 7.5. Goldsmiths does not accept IELTS Online either.

Goldsmiths runs pre-sessional English language courses and publishes alternative pre-sessional entry requirements on its preparation pages; the requirements page itself gives no PTE entry point for them.

For the Student visa itself, gov.uk asks for English equivalent to CEFR B2 at degree level or above and B1 below degree level, and says a university can assess degree-level applicants' English itself. Requirements vary by programme and change between admissions cycles. The score that binds you is the one on your Goldsmiths programme page and in your offer letter, so check it there before you book a test.
