IELTS test centres in Beijing

British Council China lists three of its own Beijing computer test venues: one in the Liangmahe Building on the East Third Ring Road (Chaoyang), one near Guomao in Tuanjiehu (Chaoyang), and one at Chongwenmen (Dongcheng). All three also run IELTS One Skill Retake. The ielts.org finder adds IDP IELTS China Beijing Haidian, on Zhongguancun Street, at CNY 1,890 for IELTS on computer Academic.

Mainland British Council sessions are booked on the NEEA site, ielts.neea.cn, which did not load for us on 29 and 30 October 2026, so we could not count dates. British Council China says its computer test runs on several days a week with morning and afternoon sessions, that you can book up to three days before the test, and that results can arrive the next day. IDP China (idpielts.cn) shows its dates only after you log in.

How to book, what ID to bring, and when results arrive

IELTS: For British Council IELTS, register and pay on ielts.neea.cn, the only official payment channel according to British Council China, by Alipay, Bank of China or China Merchants Bank online payment; you can change or cancel before the registration deadline for CNY 380. For IDP China, book through idpielts.cn. The venue address comes in your confirmation. British Council China says computer results can come as soon as one day after the test; you check them on your NEEA account.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then Beijing, a centre and a slot (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport with details in Roman characters. Mainland China is not on its exceptions list, so a resident identity card will not do; Hong Kong and Macau permanent residents testing on the mainland may show their Mainland Travel Permit, and Taiwan residents their Tai Bao Zheng. Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring).

Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test to check you are ready.
