Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Kaohsiung?

Pearson lists no PTE centre in Kaohsiung. Its price finder names one centre in Taiwan, Pearson Professional Centers-Taipei, and its centre finder showed that as the nearest on 29 and 30 October 2026, followed by Xiamen University across the strait.

Read on 29 and 30 October 2026 on the providers' own pages and on Pearson's price finder with Taiwan selected. The British Council's Taipei sessions were cheaper than IDP's before January, and cheapest on weekdays; from January 2027 both charge TWD 9,000. British Council UKVI is from its ielts.org venue pages. Pearson prices PTE in Taiwan in US dollars.

Refund, transfer and payment rules are in our IELTS fee in Taiwan and PTE fee in Taiwan guides.

IDP also tests in Tainan, at Cosmos Tainan and IDP Tainan, and both providers test in Taichung. For PTE you must go to Taipei. See our Taichung and Taipei guides.

IELTS: Book British Council IELTS in its booking system, or IDP IELTS on IDP Taiwan's test-date pages. The venue address comes in your confirmation. Both providers say 1 to 5 days for IELTS on computer.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then Kaohsiung, a centre and a slot (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport, but its exceptions list lets Taiwan citizens testing in Taiwan use a national identity card or driving licence if they have no valid passport. Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring).

Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test to check you are ready.
