Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Taipei?

Pearson's price finder says there is one PTE centre in Taiwan, and its centre finder showed it on 29 and 30 October 2026: Pearson Professional Centers-Taipei, Taiwan, in the Union Century Building on Keelung Road, Xinyi District. There is no PTE centre in Kaohsiung, Taichung or Tainan.

Pearson's finder shows only centres with open appointments for the test you pick, so check PTE Academic UKVI or PTE Core separately before you book.

The British Council's Taipei sessions were cheaper than IDP's before January, and cheapest on weekdays; from January 2027 both charge TWD 9,000. IELTS: Book British Council IELTS in its booking system, or IDP IELTS on IDP Taiwan's test-date pages. The venue address comes in your confirmation. Both providers say 1 to 5 days for IELTS on computer.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then Taipei, a centre and a slot (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport, but its exceptions list lets Taiwan citizens testing in Taiwan use a national identity card or driving licence if they have no valid passport. Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring).
