Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Kuching?

Pearson's test centre finder listed one PTE centre in Kuching on 30 October 2026: Sakra Academy (M) Sdn.Bhd - Kuching, a partner venue and the only PTE centre in East Malaysia.

Pearson's finder does not say which tests each centre runs on which day. When you book, choose the test first and then your city; only centres with slots for that test appear.

Read on 29 and 30 October 2026 in the British Council's booking system, IDP's Kuching test-date page and Pearson's price finder with Malaysia selected. IELTS costs the same in Kuching as in Kuala Lumpur. Sessions are infrequent, so book a few weeks ahead.

Refund, transfer and payment rules are in our IELTS fee in Malaysia and PTE fee in Malaysia guides.

In Sarawak the British Council also tests in Sibu, and IDP in Miri and Bintulu. In Sabah, IDP tests in Kota Kinabalu and Tawau. For more dates see our Kuala Lumpur guide and the Malaysia test centre list.

IELTS: book online with the British Council or IDP, choose Kuching and pick a session; the venue address comes in your confirmation. Bring the same identity document you entered when you booked.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then Kuching or the nearest city with a centre, and pick a slot at least 24 hours ahead (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport, and Malaysia is not on its list of country exceptions, so bring your passport. Anyone testing outside their country of citizenship must show a passport in any case. A MyKad will not do for PTE.

Results: IDP's session listings say 1 to 5 days for IELTS on computer, and Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring). Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test to check you are ready.
