Where can I take IELTS or PTE in Tokyo?

Pearson's test centre finder listed two PTE centres in Japan on 30 October 2026, both run by Pearson. The Tokyo one is Pearson Professional Centers-Shinjuku; the other is in Osaka.

Pearson's finder does not say which tests each centre runs on which day. When you book, choose the test first and then your city; only centres with slots for that test appear.

IELTS: book online with the British Council or IDP, choose Tokyo and pick a session; the venue address comes in your confirmation. Bring the same identity document you entered when you booked.

PTE: create a myPTE account with details that exactly match your ID, choose the test, then Tokyo or the nearest city with a centre, and pick a slot at least 24 hours ahead (Pearson's booking guide). Pearson's ID policy asks for a valid passport, and Japan is not on its list of country exceptions, so bring your passport. Anyone testing outside their country of citizenship must show a passport in any case. A residence card or My Number card will not do for PTE.

Results: IDP's session listings say 1 to 5 days for IELTS on computer, and Pearson sends PTE scores typically within 48 hours (PTE scoring). Before you pay, take a free IELTS mock test or a free PTE mock test to check you are ready.
