IELTS fees in Myanmar
The British Council is the only IELTS provider with test centres in Myanmar on the ielts.org finder, in Yangon and Mandalay. Its dates, fees and locations page and booking page list the fees below. From 28 June 2026 every British Council IELTS test in Myanmar is on computer, so paper IELTS is gone. An Enquiry on Results (re-mark) costs USD 95, and extra Test Report Forms are free.
IDP has no Myanmar test centre on ielts.org, but IDP's Myanmar website sells IELTS Online at USD 244.40. The British Council's IELTS Online costs USD 190, so compare before you book. IELTS Online is IELTS Academic only, needs you to be 18 or over and resident in the country, and is not accepted for migration. See IELTS Online vs computer vs paper.

How to pay: card only, in US dollars
Since 20 November 2025 the British Council takes IELTS fees only online, in USD, at the moment you book, on a credit or debit card that supports international transactions such as Visa, Mastercard or JCB (British Council). Bank transfers (AYA Pay, AYA iBanking, mBanking), over-the-counter and POS payments are refused, and a payment made that way is neither recognised nor refunded. Your bank's exchange rate and fees apply, and cards from banks under UK or other sanctions cannot be accepted.
Book with an NRC or passport, and bring the same document on test day. Under-18s need written consent from a parent or guardian.

Transfer, cancellation and refund rules
The British Council's policy for IELTS Academic and General Training: a transfer is free 15 or more days before the test, costs 25% of the fee within 5 to 14 days, and is not allowed under 5 days. Cancelling 15 or more days ahead returns 75%; within 14 days nothing comes back. Illness or an emergency can be claimed as exceptional circumstances up to two calendar days after the test, with evidence, and refunds take 4 to 6 weeks.
A One Skill Retake is offered after IELTS on computer or IELTS for UKVI on computer, once per full test (British Council); the British Council's Myanmar pages did not show its fee. Read our IELTS cancel, reschedule and refund guide, and practise free before you pay.
| Time before the test | Transfer | Cancel |
|---|---|---|
